Interface language
Switching the Hive UI between English, German, French, Spanish and Simplified Chinese.
The Hive web interface is available in English, German (Deutsch), French (Français), Spanish (Español) and Simplified Chinese (简体中文).
Switching language
Use the small flag button in the top bar, next to the Help button. It opens a menu of languages with the current one highlighted; choosing another language switches the whole interface straight away. The same button appears on the sign-in pages, so you can change language before you sign in.
How your language is chosen
- The language you picked from the flag menu, remembered in a browser cookie for a year.
- Otherwise your browser's preferred language, if it is one of the supported languages.
- Otherwise English.
The choice is stored in your browser only, so it applies per browser and device rather than per account.
What is not translated
- The MCP sign-in page shown while connecting a third-party AI client always stays in English, so the sign-in flow is never interrupted or refreshed.
- Your own content — brain names, neuron titles and text — is shown exactly as written.
- Product names, tool names, code samples and API responses are not translated.
- Some detailed error messages generated deep inside the server may still appear in English.
Language and search
The interface language is independent of semantic search. To search non-English content well, choose the international embedding model — see Search & languages.
Adding another language
Translations are standard gettext catalogs under devplatform/i18n/locales/. Adding a language needs one entry in the language registry, a flag image and a translated messages.po file; no template or route changes are required.
